Abstract:
Semi-mathematical statements express the relationship between intuitive concepts such
as provability, decidability, calculability, mathematical statements, truths of reason, human mind etc.
with rigorous mathematical and formal concepts. From the perspective of modern logic, the first semi-
mathematical statement with interesting philosophical implications is Leibniz’s thesis, followed by Hil-
bert’s, Church’s, and Gödel’s thesis. Their relationship and arguments for them are examined.
