Abstract:
Sudden loss of large systems capacity due to environmentally-induced surface flaws is one of key issues from the safety point of view. In this context, the analytical life solutions are generated through the present research work, quantifying the driving force interactions of part-through flaws and stress ratio effects. Damage tolerance-based design strategy is here proposed with the aim to provide insights on the decision-making processes required for both immediate and strategic fatigue-relevant analysis, crucial for the viability and efficiency of large system operations.
