Abstract:
The most popular form of the Yin and Yang diagram is a circle divided by an "s" line into two contrastingly coloured parts. This form was first attested to Chinese sources in the 16th and the 17th century. In recent years, attempts have been made to look into the historical origin of the diagram and whether the diagram, in addition to its cosmological and philosophical aspects, also includes a certain scientific origin and interpretation. In this article, we consider its geometric construction to that a) every aspect of the diagram is digitally expressed, and b) conditions are created for its mathematical-analytical synthesis. The synthesis showed the possibility of a certain equivalence between the reproduction of a diagram based on a raster image and a diagram based on matheatical-analytic methods. It has been demonstrated that reproduction based on mathematical-analytic statements is possible at an approximate level as raster reproduction.
