Dynamic loads are one of the main causes of system disturbance during service operations. In the present research, thus, the stress state of the lug with an elliptical corner crack-like flaw was explored, and prognostic analysis in terms of residual life was performed using a new computational framework. This study provides valuable information for both academia and industry on the detrimental effects of stress raisers for improving the optimal and safe design of fatigue-critical lug type joints. |
