The spline function of the first degree and the second degree is used for the approximation of the optimal compressor function. In order to reduce realization complexity of the designed model, in this paper it is proposed that the optimal compressor function in different segments is approximated by different spline functions, which means that the approximation of the optimal compressor function is done by combining the spline function of the first degree and the second degree. Comprehensive analysis of the results obtained for the proposed companding quantizer for the number of segments 2L = 4 i 2L = 8 is done. |
